What is Beat the box?

Rules for beat the box

In Beat the box, it is not predetermined who you will play against, but the order of play depends on the results of previous matches, which makes this a performance based tournament format.

  • Chance determines who you play with and against in your first 3, 7 or 15 matches depending on the box size.
  • In each box all players will get to play together.
  • Each set consists of 3, 7 or 15 matches depending on the box size.
  • Each set is determined by the performance of previous matches.
  • The better you play, the more similar opponents you will have.

How do you score?

In Beat the box you score as you like. You could go for the standard 15, 30, 40 and game or receive a point for each won ball.

  • Each match is played for a certain number of points. Usually 16, 24 or 32. The matches can also be played for a predetermined time period of 10-20 minutes.
  • Each team serves 2 times. The serve is then passed to the opponent.
  • Each ball won gives one point to the winning team
  • When a match is over, the score is recorded and then transferred to the individual players. If a 24 point match ends 10-14, players 1 and 2 get 10 points each. Players 3 and 4 get 14 points each.
