Managing divisions
Add and configure divisions, fill them with players and teams, and set up promotion and relegation.
1. How divisions work
Video coming soon
Divisions are your league's skill levels, with Division 1 at the top. Each division has its own roster, linked tournaments, leaderboard and seasons. Whether the roster holds individual players or fixed teams follows the league's participation mode, chosen when the league is created.
You start with the divisions defined at league creation, but they aren't fixed — you can add more (up to 10), rename them and delete ones you no longer need at any time.
2. Opening division management
Tap Manage next to the division selector.
On the league page, the leaderboard area has a division selector; the Manage action (host only) opens the Divisions panel. Pick a division from the pills at the top, then switch between the roster tab (Players or Teams, depending on the participation mode) and Settings. An empty leaderboard also shows a Manage division shortcut.
Add a division with the Add division chip.
It sits next to the division pills and instantly creates the next division (up to a maximum of 10).
Rename a division from its Settings tab.
Edit the name in the settings card and press Save. The same card holds the division's Promotion and Demotion settings.
Delete a division from its Settings tab.
Tap Delete division and confirm. The action is unavailable while only one division remains.
3. Adding players to a division
Open the roster tab and expand Add players.
In an Individual league the roster tab shows Players. You see league members (and your roster players) who are not yet in the division — tap Add next to each player you want in.
Players who join through a request are placed automatically: they request a specific division, and accepting the request puts them straight into it — no manual add needed.
A player can be moved between divisions but plays in one division's standings at a time. Adding them to the right level up front keeps the leaderboard meaningful.
4. Adding teams to a division
In a Team league, the roster tab shows Teams instead. Expand Add teams, pick exactly two players, and add the team — the name is optional, so leave it blank to use the suggested one. Players already on a team in any division don't appear in the picker. Both players get a notification that they've been added to the team.
5. Promotion and relegation
Open the menu next to any player or team in a division to move them between levels:
- Promote — moves them one division up (e.g. Division 3 → Division 2).
- Demote — moves them one division down.
- Remove — takes them out of the division (they stay a league member).
Movement can also happen automatically: each division's Settings tab has Promotion and Demotion toggles with From placement / To placement ranges. When the host restarts the season, the finishers in those placement ranges move up or down based on the final standings — see the Division seasons guide for the details.
The manual Promote and Demote actions are always available, so you stay in control — turn the automatic toggles off if you prefer to decide every move yourself.
