Division seasons

Run your league in seasons: archive the standings, apply promotion and relegation, and browse past results.

1. How seasons work

Seasons are kept per division. The live leaderboard is the current season — there is no separate start action. When a season ends, you restart it: the standings are frozen into an archive, the configured promotions and demotions are applied, and the table starts again from zero.

2. Restarting a season

Open the Season selector on the leaderboard.

It sits with the other leaderboard controls and lists the division's past seasons by date.

Choose Restart season (host only) and confirm.

You are asked to confirm, since this archives the current season, applies the division's configured promotions and demotions, and clears the division's linked tournaments.

Restarting does three things: it saves a snapshot of the division's final standings, it moves the placements configured for promotion and demotion into the neighbouring divisions, and it unlinks all tournaments from the division so the live table resets to zero.

The tournaments themselves are not deleted — they keep their own results and history. Only their link to the division is cleared. A season can only be restarted if the division has at least one linked tournament.

3. Promotion and relegation

Each division has Promotion and Demotion settings — a toggle plus a From placement / To placement range, found in the Divisions panel's Settings tab or when creating or editing the league. When you restart the season, finishers in the promotion range move to the division above and those in the demotion range move to the division below: individual players in an Individual league, whole teams in a Team league.

  • The top division never promotes and the bottom division never demotes — a range without a neighbouring division is simply skipped.
  • The confirmation message reports the outcome, including how many were promoted and demoted.

Promotion starts enabled for the top three placements; demotion starts disabled. Turn the toggles off if you prefer to move players by hand — the manual Promote and Demote actions are always available in division management.

4. Browsing past seasons

Pick any archived season from the Season selector to open its frozen table — a single standings table for the whole season, with the top three marked by crowns. Past seasons are a permanent record of who finished where, and the standings that promotion and relegation were based on.
